Dear spring,

I am sorry I do not fully understand what you are saying? Could you introduce yourself first? Thanks.

To BraveMBA:

I got your message and wanna share some thoughts here with you.

I recieved the invitation for IVEY ABC program    in April from Ella Strong. In my opinion, this program will give you a second chance to show the school your language skills, communication, personality. If you are so eager to get in this program, I will suggest you to take it. Hopefully, it will not cost you too much. Or, at least, you can make a deal    or negotiation with IVEY.    Say, if I pass this program, then I will    get the admission.

This is only my suggestion. To be aggresive and show them your capacity, I think you will gain yourself the best opportunity. Good luck, folks.

niagarafalls,

Thank you for your reply. It seems this program is for applicants with permanent residence status, whether accepted or on the way. I was just little confused by this program. I don't know the relationship between the final acceptance and the ABC program, because the final decision for my application will be made before 31/3. Hehe, anyway, I will keep a warm relationship with Ivey during this sensitive period of time.

Thank you very much.

Hi, niagarafalls    and braveMBA

It seems we are in the same boat. My problem is I am in Vancouver and if I take this program, it means another thousands dollars ant time.

Yeasterday,I received the call from an Ivey    2004 graduate who is chinese and took the program before, after I asked about the program to Scott Walker. I had the same doubt as braveMBA does. Yao, the chinese student, said the program he took    had 18 people and 5 of them were accepted candidates, others still in the process. The result is that 13 participatants    received offers or conditional offers except one who had not GMAT score. For reference.

braveMBA: I am still waiting for the up-date news and no decision has been made at this moment. That is why I am being bothered!

To cxj,

Yes, it is really a dilemma for you. Why do Ivey torture applicants like that. Although the ABC looks not bad, I doubt the ROI of it. Although it will be useful for us even if we don't take Ivey MBA, $750 + 11days is a crazy    cost to learn    the method of composing a cover/resume and some business words, especially for people in Vancouver, my god. I will not attend it until I get    the result of my application by March 31. I think maybe you can talk about your situation with them, or ask them if you can take the same course held in July.

BTW, I noticed that the web-site of the program says applicants with TOEFL less than 270 should attend the course in April. How do you think about that?

Good luck.

cxj and other Da Xia,

You mentioned offers or conditional offers in the message recently posted...I received my admissions package in which a purple letter was enclosed...it is the conditional offer from the Factulty of Gradute Education...I am not sure I understand what is the difference between the "offer" and "conditional offer"..Is it typical or does it means I can't be qualified to start my MBA progranm until passing some certain pre-MBA programs?

Sorry, I have not received the offer yet. If they have offered    you a position, it doesn't matter whether or not to attend this program.

To braveMBA, My Toefl is 270 TWE 5.0. I have no idea about their requirments.

I wrote to Ella Strong and asked some questions about the ABC program. With my judgement, although it is not a so bad course, I still    think that it    is unfair to applicants. The school, to some degree, is using their advantages to play with us while earning money from us. I want to say, Don't treat us as children or teenagers. We are husbands or wives. Many of us are dadies or moms. We are professionals. We are not kidding you. We are implementing one of the biggest projects in    our lives. Although I still have to keep smile on my face to the school and show my 'great interest' to the program, I will not attend this course just because it is unfair    to us.

Exactly! This practice degrades Ivey's reputation! By the way, are u in Canada?
