NKspielberg 个人认为利息应该是这个人真正借到的钱乘以利息率,而不是这个人准备借的钱乘以利息率。因此假设打算借A,利息率B,再设实际借到的是x,则应该是x+x*B=A。
A simple discount note has the interest deducted from the face value of the note. The borrower repays the face value. This means that the face value and the maturity of the simple discount note are the same. The amount of interest charged on the note is called bank discount, or just the discount. The actual amount money the borrower receives is called the proceeds, whuch are found by subtracting the discount from the face value( maturity value) of the note. Here is the formula : Amount of discount=Maturity value x Discount rate x Time ; D = S x d x t
roceed= Maturity - Amount of discoun ; p = S - D
Ex. The owner of a supermarket decided that she need a new computerized cash register. She needed $3000 for 90 days and applied to her bank for loan. When the bank was satisfied that the loan would be repaid as promissed, it made the loan at the rate of 9%. Assume that the borrower signed a 90-day simple discount note with maturity value of $3000. The discount rate is 9%. The owner of the super market then had $2,932.50 to use toward the pruchase of new registers.
Solution: D= Sdt = 3,000x0.09x90/360=$67.50
P= S-D = 3,000-67.50= $2,932.50
If she needed the full $3,000 as proceeds to buy the cash registers, the note sould have had a maturity value larger than $3,000.
