这两道题都用了what 从句，101说it claim做插入语，为什么 61中的 it appears不能作插入语呢？

怎么是定语从句阿？

(C) it appears to have been an ancient lakeshore hunting ground and is stunning evidence that human ancestors

C的错误在and后面的谓语动词其实不和前面的主语搭配，而是和ancient lakeshore hunting ground搭配，所以是一个错误的定语从句表达

而且如果 it appears做插入语的话，那么去掉后是what to have been ，动词时态不对

应该这样改

it appears is an ancient lakeshore hunting ground， stunning evidence that human ancestors

我觉得就对了

做GWD18－31,与Prep2-49几乎如出一辙。里面也用到what这个知识点。于是把这3个题目（prep2-49/61/101放在一起进行了比较）。得出了what用法的一点小结。

61.Researchers in Germany have unearthed 400,000-year-old wooden spears from what
        appears to be an ancient lakeshore hunting ground, stunning evidence that human ancestors systematically hunted big game much earlier than believed.

that/what/which/who…等引导的从句中，that/what/which/who等词汇本身充当从句主语。这是破解版里的解释。说明因为what it appears从句里面出现两个主语错，所以排除A/B/C.

101.The electronics company
            has unveiled
            what (it claims) is the world's smallest network digital camcorder, which
                        is
                    as long as a handheld computer and weighs less than 11 ounces.

此题不用what it claims to …来排除选项B，主要是因为it可以做形式主语。此处的it claims to…与61题中的it appears有区别——这是我的理解。

不知道有否说清楚。我自己也被这几题搞得很晕。

個人理解:
61: what跟it指同一個東西 - an ancient lakeshore hunting ground, 重複所以錯
101: what跟it指同不同東西 - what指the world’s smallest network digital camcorder, it指the electronics company

zjpopo mm,我今天下午查了字典，可是都没有这2种用法，艾，可能高中英语基本知识没学好，只好现在补，朦胧记得高中讲过appear的几种用法，what的用法，可是想不起来。

如果有本电子版的正式的语法书就好了~
