reasonable? an intrest of over 10% for student loan

I got to know that my school provided student loan from Citi bank and the rate is prime +5%, currently the prime is 5%, so the total yearly rate could reach to 10%. And could be even higher! Now I got no idea if I should go on with student loan, but actually I have no choice now unless I decide to return to China and give up this school.

I know I might as well accept it. But may anybody give me any insights or referance about this? Isn't it too high to be acceptable?

no other choices for loan without a cosigner, this is the only one our school provides. And I was told that those loans with cosigners could be even higher because they have administration fees!
