首先　用of 修饰的是scale 而不是原句的built  你个以考虑如果of 修饰的是scale那么脱去of后的修饰成分， 句子就会变成The Anasazi settlements at Chaco Canyon were built on a spectacular scale 这样原句的逻辑意思就被掩埋了， 而且D项后面的and with没有平行对象

句子结构是：

这里的scale of 是被分开的固定搭配么，那为什么不干脆把scale放在后面呢...?

我是这么想的，of up to 600 rooms each 是修饰structure的，也就是structure, up to 600 rooms of each,这里的scale 和of 没有联系

不知道自己的理解有无道理，这道题的讨论好分散...每个帖子里都只有一页

同意楼上的，有两个介词短语修饰  scale ： 1）with more than... structurs 2） of up to 600 rooms each room connected by...road。

因为2）太长了所以后置，这种结构不用and连接。OG 10th 里面有这样的例子。
