其中，connected修饰邻近的structures

觉得这个对。但我有个问题of up to 600 rooms each，这个each……of结构为何要倒装。一开始居然把它和独立主格弄混了，晕@@！

我现在觉得of up to 600 rooms each应该是同位语结构，但仍然不明白为何要倒着写。，“+each”放在句尾做同位语是很好的，但把each放在后面就不知道each修饰什么了 求解求解~~~

我觉得是因为如果把each正放,就会修饰structures了,其实LS也说插入语是修饰settlements的吧?
所以each of up to ...还应该是独立主格,

我上条回复弄错了， of up to 600 rooms each是插入语，修饰应该是修饰structures。每一个structure有600个room。

connected by…也是修饰structure。

each of up to ...为each+介短，是独立主格作同位语。

正因为我觉得，of up to 600 rooms each，修饰前面的structures，所以正序很好，不明白为何each置后。

MM的意思是不是of……each结构修饰的是settlements，所以为了避免each就近修饰structures，而将其置后？可以这样么？

看来of up to 前面加上名词是正确的表达方式。
那么这么说each of up to 600 rooms 也是正确的，each 表示structures

可是根据独立主格的规则，这边是应该用“each of up to 600 rooms “， 为什么题中要将each放到后面去呢？
我总感觉"of up to 600 rooms each"读起来很拗口。这是一种什么结构呢？

个人意见：each 放在后面，使得过去分词connected临近修饰each所指的名词，即engineered structure
避免过去分词临近修饰room而引起歧义。

提点我个人的不同理解，我还是觉得后半部分是 with引导的一个独立主格，中间有个插入语“of up to 600 rooms each”，后边是V-ed的形式。总体来看就是with stuctures connected by……，如果把each看成独立主格的话整体结构很混乱的说
