Assistantships

Assistantships are two-year awards funded by Penn State to attract outstanding students and to provide support to fulfill the University's Mission. Recipients work 10 hours per week for the Smeal College with responsibilities ranging from assisting faculty to working in one of Smeal’s research centers.

In return, students receive a 100 percent waiver of tuition, subsidized health insurance, and a stipend of approximately $6,000/academic year. In a student’s second year, the assistantship may be adjusted to twenty hours per week with a corresponding doubling of the stipend to approximately $12,000.

你的权利是：不用交学费，医疗保险只要自己负担20%，第一年有6000刀的收入

你的义务是：给学校工作，第一年10小时每周。

第一年的累计GPA不低于3.0是保持拥有第二年的ASSISTANTSHIP的唯一条件。

第二年可以申请继续10小时每周一年6000刀，或者默认20小时每周一年12000刀。

David didn't come to Shanghai last week.Mellisa came with a group of 1st year students. They are very nice.

要是实际英文水平比学校以为的要好的话，就再和他们聊聊，酱紫他们多一个机会发现实际上你的英文水平沟通木有问题，就可以打消他们的顾虑了。

那是SCHOLARSHIP 吧？

你可以争取，可能会多可能就这么多。

一年级的时候可以争取第二年的GA，可能争取的到也可能争取不到。
