[求助]OG 第 31题。前面有人问过，但没人解释清楚。

对的，OG11里面E的解释里没有出现说要用admit to这个用法了。

研究了一下longman对admit的解释，觉得ETS去掉这个解释是有理由的。

用法有：

  admit (that) ：e.g.You may not like her, but you have to admit that she's good at her job.

  admit (to) doing something : e.g. Dana admitted feeling hurt by what I had said.

2accept blame :  to say that you have done something wrong, especially something criminal
   

用法有：

  admit doing something ：e.g.Greene admitted causing death by reckless driving.

  admit to (doing) something : e.g.A quarter of all workers admit to taking time off when they are not ill.

可以看到，如果按照OG10的说法要用admit to 这种用法的话，唯一符合的是admit to (doing) sth,也就是admit to their (being) lack of...

但是从句意来看，不能说people是认罪，认错，只能说是不情愿地承认一个事实，因此不可能是accep blame里面的用法，也就不可能是用admit to了。

不知道这样的理解有没有错误？总之ETS是去掉了这个解释。

  But、yet
            左右連結的是相當、平等的概念，

  although、while左右連接的是一個主要概念和一個次要概念。

  由句意來判斷語意邏輯上該用哪一個來表達，同一個句子中不可同時用but/yet 和 although。

   例如，….primarily….., although/ while they supplement….

            (主要)                  (附屬)… 故用although/ while 較合語意邏輯

   

(1) Although / while 引導的附屬子句，必須有主詞和完整的動詞，不可省略任一。

                        (while當contrast時, 是做為附屬連接詞, 必須引導完整的主詞和動詞)

(2) Although、while 引導的子句，和主要子句在語氣(主、被動)以及句子結構上必須平行對稱。

注意：所以E選項說用 while willing 是不完整的結構, 因為缺了主詞和動詞

而D選項的willing, 是 Many people, who are willing to..., (或著，Many people, who will to..., )

的"非限定形容詞子句"省略之後變成分詞構句 (Many people, willing to..., ) 用來補充形容people, 這裡跟 while的用法沒有關係.

will 查字典，只有 助動詞、動詞的用法，沒有形容詞的用法。

至於while當 時間(當...的時候)的表示時，主、動詞是否可以省略的原則如下：

當 由「從屬連接詞」引導的「副詞子句」，其主詞和動詞與主要子句裡的主詞和動詞相同時，省略主、動詞之後就變成「省略副詞子句」。但是如果主、動詞是不同的，則省略之後會造成句意不清，要避免。

 

例一，Men and women still experience some of the effects of a divorce
                        that occurred when they were children. (O)

Men and women still experience some of the effects of a divorce
                        that occurred when child. (X) à
                    省略主、動詞之後，變成when引導的子句其主詞是 a divorce.

變成 a divorce that occurred when a divorce was a child.

例二，The bank holds $3 billion in
                        loans that are seriously delinquent or in such trouble that it(the bank)
                        does not expect payments to be made when they are due. (O)

如果when引導的副詞子句中，省略了they are，變成
                        when due，就會變成 when (the bank is) due，會導致句意邏輯的錯誤。

不过我还是想问问，C 哪错了？

而且如果按前面说的wil没有-ing分词形式的话，那在正确选项D中的willing也是形容词了？做什么成分？形容词做同位语修饰people?有这么用的吗？

其实已经很清楚了，OG说E选项INCOMPLETE，是因为willing前少了一个are.

一般情况，这个are可以省略，但是在这里主语是many people, 动词是个并列结构，也就是have和are的并列，如果把are省略了，并列的后半部就默认为have willing...，这明显不对，所以are不能省略。

我看了OG11-9，又推翻了这个观点...人家是有逗号隔开的

其实，这个题很容易排除 A B C

在D和E中，用一种经验的总结规律就可以排除E。

That is, ....,are [disinclined] to recognize ... 和 Many people have a [disinclination] to recognize ...一比较就会看出，一个用的是【动词】而另一用的是【名词】。Gmat在有些题就是在遵循使用动词比使用名词更简洁的原则。所以，选用动词优于选用名词。因此答案自然选E了.
