I see. Thank you a lot.

explosion不能是type而可以是one of a type

GWD3-Q22:

On account of a law passed in 1993, making it a crime punishable by imprisonment that a United States citizen hold gold in the form of bullion or coins, immigrants found that on arrival in the United States they had to surrender all of the gold they had brought with them.

  1. On account of a law passed in 1993, making it a crime punishable by imprisonment that a United States citizen hold
  2. With a law passed in 1933 that makes it a crime punishable by imprisonment that a United States citizen hold
  3. A law passed in 1933 that made it a crime punishable by imprisonment for a United States citizen holding
  4. Because of a law passed in 1933 making it a crime punishable by imprisonment for a United States citizen to hold
  5. Due to a law being passed in 1933 that makes it a crime punishable by imprisonment for a United States citizen to hold

imprisonment

    C

for a United States citizen holding

because of doing ?

make it adj +从句

make it adj+to do 都是对的,这里的it作宾补,代替的是从句和to do。

1. Due to错误, ETS不认为due to可以取代because, because of.
2. makes

关于E选项,偶记得OG中给出的官方解释是:due to =contribute to; ≠because or because of;因此在GMAT中,due to 一般都不会出现在句首的;且E"a law being passed"中的being表达逻辑意思不正确,being更多表达状态,而这里的law早已在1933年就passed了;所以看到这两个关键点即可否决E

另,前面讲到D选项中对because of困惑的,偶认为这里的because of 后面的核心次就是a law“passed in 1933 ……"

1 A,B选项里的that a United States citizen hold可不可以因为有修饰imprisonment 不合理而排除

2  for a United States citizen holding

3 because of doing?

3 because of doing?

==》because of + 名词。

State
government, rather than against it.

* dogged ,(adj.

Q18: GWD-4-4

A new hair-growing drug is being sold for three times the price, per milligram, as the drug’s maker charges for another product with the same active ingredient.

  1. as

  2. than

  3. that

  4. of what

  5. at which

Cthat

A 不能用as因为前面的three times,既然three times,as就有一点奇怪

D. of what不可以。如果用of what,从句里的whatprice的数值,而price of 要求的宾语是price的对象。price of the book 是对的,price of 2 $就是错的了。

E charge at...

GWD6-Q2:

According to its proponents, a proposed new style of aircraft could, by skimming along the top of the atmosphere, fly between most points on Earth in under two hours.

  1. According to its proponents, a proposed new style of aircraft could, by skimming along the top of the atmosphere, fly between most points on Earth in under two hours.

  2. By
                        skimming along the top of the atmosphere, proponents of a proposed new style of aircraft say it could fly between most points on Earth in under two hours.

  3. A proposed new style of aircraft could fly between most points on Earth in under two hours, according to its proponents, with it skimming along the top of the atmosphere. with短语表示伴随,

    distortion
  4. A proposed new style of aircraft, say its proponents, could fly between most points on Earth in under two hours because of its skimming along the top of the atmosphere.

    because of its skimming 改变原意,distortion
  5. According to its proponents, skimming along the top of the atmosphere makes it possible that a proposed new style of aircraft could fly between most points on Earth in under two hours.

                                                                             Answer: A

3     词法-比较by, with, because of 也是本题的考点

此题我的错误是把A选项中的according to 判断为与a proposed new style of aircraft逻辑主语不一致。

According to a recent poll, owning and living in a freestanding house on its own land is still a goal of a majority of young adults, like that of earlier generations.

(A) like that of earlier generations

(B) as that for earlier generations

(C) just as earlier generations did

(D) as have earlier generationsE

(E) as it was of earlier generations
