Your english is not necessary to be perfect. Enough as long as you can express yourself logically.

nothing funny at all

2 points about the inverviewee:

1. his english is not good enough

2. What he said "I am totally ok to work 80-100 hours a week" does not make sense at all. Nobody is happy to work more than 100 hours per week. Don't bullshit just because you want a job.

hehe

I personally know some people who work about 100 hours per week. Many people who work for investment banks or strategy consulting companies have to work long hours. I guess that the interviewee wanted to express his willingness to work long hours because he might hear of that people in your company have to work long hours.

It's understandable that someone who lives in US for a couple of years does not know much about the Asian capital market, just as many people who work in Asian are not familiar with US market.

Everybody bullshits during an interview. Everybody bullshits at work.

No offense. And if your point is to encourage people here to improve their english, I do agree.

They are probably applying for an internship in Asia so they can learn more about the market.  Willingness to work hard, fearlessness to tread unfamiliar territories, and eagerness to learn more about your company's strategic directions are all admirable, at least to me.  It's too bad you don't appreciate any of that.

I'm sure ICBC isn't the only choice for students from the best bschools.  Everyone needs someone to take them in at a leap of faith at some point in their career.  Lack of respect and openness will only turn some of the best candidates away.

Well, whatever you are.  I'm sure you're not the only place they can work for.
