以前的一个老学长说的很对，能进Banking的很多人可能只是比别人懂得几个专业术语，多懂得一些market news. such things is"学的来就知道怎么做" - 而banking就是属于学的来就知道怎么做的事情。有几个banker出来告诉大家你们在做什么？ Associate在做什么？ 估计说出来大家就会说－“哦，不过如此，有一个月的training我也会做”所以做banker并没有什么了不起的。But many things are "学得来还是不知道怎么做" just as MD on its strategy development for the company. 我想LZ也应该没有达到这个境界。candidate问你的这个问题你回答不上来你自己应该做反思了。至少你被人问后回去应该好好想想。但是从你的态度上看，你没有。MD不是因为他当了MD以后才会想这个问题，而是他在当MD之前就反复想了这个问题才导致他能当上MD(当然是部分原因）

虽然那两个个candidate英语说的不好，并且申请banking不知道什么是deferred tax 和WACC是很不应该。但是知道了也并不说明candidate有多优秀。

大家知道被B-school录取的很多人就不一定优秀，LZ想必也知道这个事实。 LZ可能不是出身这三个学校，或者可能被三个学校据过，借此机会发一下怨恨也情有可原。

我不会歧视那些不懂得自己知道知识的人，因为我觉得知识都是学的来的，很简单。如果LZ鄙视这样的人，估计是认为学会这些东西很难学会。 这样看来，你也不过是百步笑九十了。

楼主发此贴并没有什么恶意，只是揭示一种现象，他说的什么WACC，deferred tax不过是举举例子，却被某些人抓住不放，一味攻击．他说一些名校毕业的学生口语不好这也是事实，但并没有说这具有代表性．其实我们应该多怀谦虚态度，多提高口语交流能力．

如果连这点心胸和理解力都没有，还能成为优秀的ＭＢＡ管理人才吗

15楼的，hehe, as a financial controller, you dont know what deferred tax exactly mean? surprised..

what's the point why this controller guy has to know about deferred tax? do we have deferred tax in china?

by the way, i thought the telephone interview did increase the tension level and nervousness significantly. i dont believe those mbas couldnot communicate well for job interviews if it is face-to-face, because these job interviews do not totally reflect your english level...mostly you would be asked some expected questions, which could be practised beforehand.

i happened to know quite a lot chinese who are currently working in banking in new york, and i dont think their english are that good. by saying that, i believe they actually did well during the interviews. you know what i mean?

it simple does not make sense to make fun of your countrymen's english. will the position be based in china or oversea? if the former, i dont see the point why to drill down all requirements to english....

i am also surprised which bank is still recruiting for summer in april?

呵呵，经过各位据理力争，我基本认为，不懂得怎么计算WACC,不知道啥是deferred tax,不能用英文流畅表达，是MBA们找到工作的有力武器。

不知道lz想说明什么问题，是想说商学院的学生都太差，还是lz自己问倒了几个学生自己感觉很牛？

真的么，名校出来的也有这么差的阿，呵呵，我无谓评价这个差的概念，不过我的第一印象还真是满惊讶的：）

还有，我觉得看懂帖子，理解别人要表达的意思再回帖会比较好，很多人的发言，我也觉得好笑

Honestly I am surprised at the performance of these first year's as they ARE from top-notch schools and supposed to present some qualities that can match with the training/educations they have received.  I don't think the LZ is holding any hostility towards these students, even tho the way he put it may have carried a hint of impropriety considering the "culture" of this forum has been friendly, encouraging, or sometimes even flattering.

That said, I believe what seems to bother the LZ the most was not their in-fluency in English or in-proficiency of finance knowledge that can be critical to the success of the internship and future career, but rather the unpreparedness and lack of sophistication these candidates exposed in front of these sophisticated, fastidious bankers or banker-to-be's.

Just take the points and move on..
