[原创]n. america 11/4 JJ - 730 m49 v40

Dear CDers,  (sorry, couldn't type chinese.)  JJ-Second Floor

I've been browsing this site for awhile, but this is the my first post to thank everyone's help and to help the futuer test takers.

Summary - Prep Mock test 640, 610 and 710. Study length - radom study (<2hr/day on and off) for about 2 month, focused study 2week before test (<5hr/day.)

Details - First, a bit of personal GMAT prep experience and background.  I have a pretty good math foundation, but my Mock test math were never higher than 46.  Material used including 6/7 test sets downloaded here, and November JJ (not all that much JJ posted, but I've got about 5 JJ problems, not too bad =)) My problem with math is that I'm not the most careful person, therefore I know it'd hard to push 50.

I've been in the states for about 8 years and attended to a very good US high school for about 1.5, but my written english has never been so great, including reading (otherwise, I'd take a couple of years ago.)  My Mock test Verbal sections usually had about 14 incorrect answers (Very consistant, expect my last GMAT official Prep had only 8, which I was really surprised.) Materials were - "LiuZhenMin SC" downloaded here - OG and OG verbal.  I felt like spend some good time improving reading is probably the most important part and also really understand "LiuZhenMin" which I went through twice - keep in mind that when I just started my SC correction rate was only about 50%, and I truely believe that if someone can remember everything "LZM" talked about, he could ACE SC.

My total study time hasn't been very long, for the first 3 months I didn't really spent all that much time, just finished reading "LiuZhenMin," but I started to really focus and pratise about 2 weeks ago, doing math, reading "LiuZhenMin" for the 2nd time and concentrated on reading (my mock test reading has only 50% accuracy except the last one, which really concerned me)  I read the master reading post here and thought they were helpful.  So, I focused on reading the last couple of days and improved my RC accurancy to about <1 incorrect in every article in OG verbal.

The day of the test - I think one sure really make sure he/she won't starve during the mid of the test, and bring some food (make sure you've got Chocolate, dark chocolate to boost your sugar and cafein level a bit) for the breaktime (San Francisco test center has lockers.)  The most important thing is to be confident and relax.  I almost treated it like a mock test.  I felt the more nervous I was, which I did at the beginning, the longer it took me to solve a problem.

Pace - I didn't do so well on math, and I missed out on timing a bit that I didn't confirm my last answer, which I hadn't figure out the answer any way.

Advise - I'm not a DaNiu, but I believe it was my confident and my last two weeks of study and of course, most important the CHASEDREAM community help me to get what I've got.

Final Word - Good Luck to everyone and Now I'm going to Post my JJ on the NEXT Floor.

JJ

The first thing I did after the test was trying to remember the problems, but unfortunately, I probably have the worst memory of all the CDers.  A lot of the problem I remember only the format and the strategy, but hope it still lelps.

MATH

1- 60% of students were vaccinated with Rxx and 70% wtih Mxx, what is the % of students vaccinated with both.  (KEY-didn't say how many wasn't vaccinated at all.)

A-10% B-25% C-45% D-65% E-80%  (my asnwer is C because is has to be between 30% and 60%)

2 - Machine A makes 7000 products in 8hrs, B makes 7000 in 2hrs.  One day A worked twice as long as B, ask what's the ratio of A's product to the total products? answer

33.3%

3 - f[x] is defined to the closest number equal or less x, f[y]=2, f[x/3]=?

answer 0

4 - (this one I absolute don't remember the details, sorry) JiHe problem - number of P is twice as M, MP together is 1/2 of M only, total number of MP together is 5000, ask P only.

Answer 10,000 - reasoning M-only has 1 unit, MP together 2 units, and P only 4 units (because (4+2)=2x(1+2)

5 - DS 8^2x < 4^(y+1)?  1) x<y+1 2) 3x<2y

My asnwer is E.  Try to substitute different numbers satisfy both condition and the asnwers could be <,=, or >.

6 - Asking the total distance of a tiangle, whose 3 points are (-4, 3) (3,4) and (-1,1) on the XY-plane. It aslo said something about the points were on a lake, come with a drawing too.

Answer 17.  (-4, 3) to (3,4) is 50^2 the other two are 5 each. The total is estimated.

7 - DS X is left of Y and Z, is XYZ<0?   1) XY<0 2) YX<0

E because the asnwer depends the relative position of Y and Z.

8 - DS 700 of tickets were sold, and ticket price to the students is half that to the none-students, ask how many were sold to Students?  1)Total revinue is $2500 2) The total price of 1 student and 1 none-student ticket is $6.

9 - DS A 3-digit integer, what is the unit digit?  1)product of all units = 54 (or 56) 2)sum of all unit >16.  (sorry this was my last question which I didn't have time to read close enough to figure out.) but not hard though.

10 - PQ=77, ask P-Q? 1) 1</Q<1.6 2) don't remember, but the answer was C

There is one more I rem粗体ember, but couldn't draw - 4 lines interect each other forming a "#" not necessarily //.  4 corner w, x, y and z.  ask x+z=?  1) w=95 2)z=125 Answer is D for sure

That's all on math.

AWA

AA - a READ-To-WARE company conclude that since it put in a improved but more costly benefit package into place, it's quarterly profit has declined and the recruiting and training has minimal improvement, therefore it'll cancel the program and put the money to R&D.

AI - Indivual performance is more important than teamwork.

RC

1) Something about study of the Chinese Immigrant need to be based on the immigrants letter.

2) Doctors should take into considerations of people's ethic background, used example of Hispanic Mexican.

3) Business writing competition...
