我在北美工作，做Marketing dirctor，负责加拿大市场的营销和拓展。 我是国内工科硕士背景，在国内做了几年技术研发后到欧洲和北美做IT行业的MKT。虽说现在税前也有120KCAD一年，但是还是想通过名校MBA的培训，进入更高层面。我对创业和NGO感兴趣，不知道Standford商学院是否喜欢IT背景的申请者？不知道Standford NGO的专业方向如何？

另外不知道各位在Standford商学院学习，体会如何，期望能够得到分享。我目前手下有几个IVEY商学院的毕业生，感觉平凡。

Answer: If I'm not mistaken, you are talking about the "what matters most" essay. Look within yourself. Only you know what to write about yourself. I've talked to many people about their applications (both Chinese and Americans). People either spent little time (several hours or several days) because they know precisely what they want to say, or a lot of time (several weeks to several months) because they know what they want to say but it's so hard to get it out, especially in a clear, concise, and convincing way.

The key here is the question itself. Just what exactly matters to you the most and why. (Hint: Something that you value more than anything, including the school application itself. Something you've thought long and hard about. Something close to your heart. Something that has guided your decisions and even your life. Something that you are proud of.) If you think you know what it is, tell a story to back it up. That's it. Of course, if you can make it engaging and fun to read, that's even better. The rest is luck.

终于看完了，牛人真多啊，来粘粘喜气。有个问题想请教一下xiaoqiang,就是学校网站上有pdf格式的空白推荐信下载，需要推荐人签字等。那就是说推荐信不是推荐人用自己的信箱返回给学校就可以了。还需要邮寄书面的签字版吗？

牛牛都毕业了，不知道这个post还有木有人来回答呢。

Current students at Stanford, I'm planning a campus visit around the
end of Oct. However, I found all the information sessions/ class
visits/ etc. are closed between 10/24 and Nov. Is it a break week? If 
I get there on 10/27, 28, will I find someone to talk to? Many thanks!
