EIU Ranks HKUST MBA Top in Asia and Australasia

October 12, 2006¡KThe Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's
School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) today announced
that its full-time MBA program has been ranked by the Economist
Intelligence Unit (EIU) as No. 1 in Asia and Australasia.

Among this year's world's top 100 MBA programs in the list EIU produces
annually, 50 are from North America, 39 from Europe and 11 from Asia and
Australasia. The HKUST MBA places 37th on the overall list.

EIU's ranking criteria include four main areas, namely, "open new career
opportunities", "personal development and educational experience",
"increase salary" and "potential to network". The HKUST MBA program ranks
No. 2 in the world in "personal development and educational experience"
which is measured by faculty quality, student quality, student diversity
and education experience. EIU commended the School as having "one of the
world's best-qualified faculties".

K.C. Chan, Dean of the HKUST Business School, said, "I'm glad the ranking
recognizes the quality of the faculty and the students. Student diversity
is a feature of our program. We will continue to improve these features to
support Hong Kong as an education hub."

Steven DeKrey, Director of MBA Program, said, "We have been implementing a
number of initiatives in our program to enrich students' learning
experiences. In addition to our well established international exchange
program we have in recent years added a professional team to look after
students' personal and career development. Our objectives are to assist
our students to renew, improve and develop themselves with their MBA
experience. I am glad these results are consistent with our priorities."

It is OK to send  to UST by yourself, but it should be sealed with the authority chop of your college. and it is fine to only show the original score, if you think your original score is not so strong to catch attention, u can also state some ranking such as your score is top 10 of your class or some reasons. that is fine.

Frankly, GPA is one factor, but not so important, The Resume and the Essay are quite important.

The average working experience of part time is a little longer than full time generally. this year the working exp. of full time students is 5 years.  Frankly I prefer Full time if you want to switch your career or want to work in HK. if thats the case, in long term, the money may not the factor you consider too much. that is investment for your career. so far the return of investment in UST MBA is not bad.

But if you are satisfied with your current working or industry, only want promotion or better position in better company, part-time also work. especially when you have family in shenzhen.

My two cents.
