Close to DC area, Virginia, and mid-atlantic area, all rich states.......You donot have to be in big cities such as NYC....

It depends on where you want to compare College Park with, if it is UIUC, College Park in MD is much better in terms of city life, while if it is NYU or HBS, you can forget about College Park, which is a no-brainer thing.

then which is more important for a decent job offer after graduation, the location or the ranking of the school? for example, a 20-40 school in NY, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, or a top 20 school in not so good cities.

thanx~~

This question is too general, but if you can get in a top 16 (HBS, Wharton, Standford, MIT, Clumbia, Chicago, Kellog, Tuck, Duke, Michigan, Darden, NYU, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cornell and Yale), there is no reason to consider other schools with better locations.

Agree.

Big Three, Magic Seven, Top 15-16, these are far more meaningful rankings than so-called "top 20, top 25, top 30". There are few differences between, say, 18-19, and 28-29 ranked schools.
