You can give another shot, but it is going to be painful. It also depends on your professional experience, if you can get great essays and recommendations, you still can get in top 20 schools. I don't know why you want to do an MBA abroad. In my eyes, CEIBS and CKGSB in China are doing great and you will be able build up a large network in China; MBAs in HK are sweet choices as well, and I know job placement of China students is pretty good there. Do not know much about NUS, you can do more research. Top 30-50 schools in the U.S., hard to say, depending on your background, U.S. economy and the school location. Assuming US economy continues to be good, and the school is located in Bay area, or LA area, or mid-atlantic area or Boston area, or around Chicago area or Atlanta area or Houston/Dallas area, you should be able to find jobs in the U.S., but donot expect those jobs to be very lucrative, such as IBs or MCs. Most those jobs are more like financial or credit analysist, marketing research analysist or supply chain professionals. Again, if the economy is bad as it was back in 2001, be ready to get another degree after this MBA. Schools in Canada are not very attractive unless you are doing your immigration in the same time. Rotman, Queens and Ivey are three top choices there, other schools are not worthy spending your money unless you want to sit in canada to finish your immigration. Same to schools in Europe, only try top schools like LBS,IMD or INSEAD. Overall, do not go abroad just because you want to see something beyond China, and do not restrict your school options just because of a so-so GMAT, an MBA is not for anything but your career, so think it through when you make your school decisions. |
