The Admissions Committee is impressed with your credentials, and I am very pleased to inform you that we have recommended that the Graduate College admit you to the MSMIS Program. We are recommending that you be admitted to regular standing.
I would like to share with you some of the evidences and reasons why the excellence of our education programs is internationally known.
?nbsp; Our graduate program is currently ranked 4th and has been ranked in the top five by US News and World Report for 16 consecutive years.
?nbsp; A number of our students and alumni recently have been recipients of such national awards as IBM Fellowship, First Prize in the ACM Programming Competition, National Security Education Program Fellowships, and NSF Career Awards.
?nbsp; Over the past two years, our Department has received in-kind, state-of-the-art enterprise/ e-business technology, consulting, and scholarship contributions valued at about $20 million from external sources. These resources are currently showcased in recently dedicated 揝usan and Mark Hoffman eCommerce Lab.?Mark Hoffman, an alumnus of the Eller MBA program, is currently the President and CEO of Commerce One.
?nbsp; Our faculty members have been leaders in research, commercializing innovations and integrating before market innovations into teaching content. The research funding UA-MIS faculty has received is approaching $50 million.
?nbsp; The department has established a very strong partnership with industry leaders. The UA-MIS Board of Advisors is comprised of executives from major IT, Consulting, Fortune 500 and New Economy companies, and has made great contributions to our technology infrastructure and program enhancements.

You should be aware that the MIS Department recently added a one-unit required course in Business Communication for IT Professionals to our MS curriculum. The course was added in response to the recommendation of our MIS Board of Advisors, MS/MIS Alumni, and current students. Students are required to take this course in their first year of their program.
Based on your previous academic history, you are not required to take any business courses in addition to the 31-unit MSMIS program requirement.
All MSMIS students must be proficient in at least one programming language. We recommend Java. All students are required to complete at least 30 units while in the MS in the MIS program. MIS courses taken while in other graduate programs will not count toward the 30 units of residency.
There are three things requiring your immediate attention.

2. Submit your non-refundable deposit/Fee of $500 no later than July 1 2006.  lease make your check payable to 揟he University of Arizona? Without this deposit, we cannot guarantee your place in the entering class and your application for admission cannot be processed to the Graduate College.
