I think the answer is (B).

The fact:

1. Plastic sled became popular

2. the number of children injured was higher while sledding

In order to undermine the author's claim, we need to disconnect the relations of plastic sled and injury. And (B) provides an alternative explanation.

I feel D is more appropriate,since it states most incidents occured with another sleds. Therefore, the cause of sledding incidents can not largely attibute to plastic sleds.

今天看了看，因该是C。

题目说塑料受伤的人数比木头的多，所以塑料的比木头的危险。

答案E只说木头的座的人多，但是没说塑料的人怎么样，所以到底谁发生事故多还是无法得知。

C说塑料的比木头的用的场合多，所以削弱了原文。

昨天做了kaplan，结果大受打击，只得了600分，题目又长又臭，感觉比GWD的模拟卷难很多。。。。。

It doesn't mean "塑料的比木头的用的场合多". It means under various snow conditions (big or small snow), plastic sleds can be used. So this answer definitely strengthen the author's argument!

Wider,说明适用场合更多，和variety没啥关系，这里wider更重要。。。

文中说，plastic shed became popular, but did not say plastic shed made shedding, as a sport, more popular. 所以，very few children wear pretective gear 是一个状况，10年来没有变，至少文中选项中没有指示。

而，C implies the plastic shed can be used in wider condition, indicating plastic shed is used more often than wooden shed，提供了比较多injuries 另一个解释， undermining the force of the evidence.
