Were it not要不是…,不需要instead转折,排除B。would have to be collapsing没有这样的说法,排除C。
2.A,补完整比较应该是than (babies were born to women) under it. (it指the age of thirty)。
A的it指代不清,B不能把energy和Germany做对比,D改变了原文的意思,原文对比的只是“在本国生产的engegy”,这句的意思变成了占全国使用的energy的xx%(本国+购买?),E的it指代the energy。
5.A,because + clause,because of + noun。
并且so it would be中的it指代有歧义,逻辑上应指代the company,但句意上指代的确是committee,排除A。
Halley’s comet did cause such a worldwide sensation in no other historical sighting as in its return in 1910-1911.
E.and that, if it strikes Earth, it could experience a tremendous amount of damage but
8.C,that…, and that…平行。行星撞地球只是一个假设,只能用虚拟语态if it were to。
9. A,大平行:Minivan carry and [cost less, get, allow, and have] (carry和整个后半句平行),小平行:后半句里面的cost, get, allow, and have.

5.(243)Sulfur dioxide, a major contributor to acid rain, is an especially serious pollutant because it diminishes the respiratory system's ability to deal with all other pollutants.
A.an especially serious pollutant because it diminishes the respiratory system's ability to deal【正确】【sth’s ability可用在无生命主体:】
B.an especially serious pollutant because of diminishing the respiratory system's capability of dealing【because of diminishing】【capability to do;GMAT认为capability of X-ing/in X-ing是wordy/awkward的】
C.an especially serious pollutant because it diminishes the capability of the respiratory system in dealing【in dealing好像没有这个搭配,且较A繁琐?】in dealing有做状语修饰整个从句的歧义,含义变为Sulfur dioxide在dealing with的 时候减少了respiratory system的能力,而不是原义想要表达的,减少了respiratory system的deal with…
D.a specially serious pollutant because it diminishes the capability of the respiratory system to deal【specially错误】【of the respiratory system的插入,导致to deal可以修饰动词diminish,歧义】
E.a specially serious pollutant because of diminishing the respiratory system's ability to deal【specially错误】

6.(244)In Japan, a government advisory committee called for the breakup of Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Company, the largest telephone company in the world, so it would be two local phone companies and one long-distance provider.
A.In Japan, a government advisory committee called for the breakup of Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Company, the largest telephone company in the world, so it would be【it代指breakup,解体是公司,错误】“   so”用作并列连词,连接两个独立的分句。 so it would be里的it指代歧义,本身应 指代the largest telephone company,但是这里指代了主语a government advisory committee,错误】
B.The breakup of the world's largest telephone company, Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Company, was called for by a government advisory committee in Japan, so it would be【it代指breakup,解体是公司】
C.A government advisory committee in Japan called for the breakup of Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Company, the world's largest telephone company, into【正确】

E.Called for by a government advisory committee, the breakup of Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Company in Japan, the world's largest telephone company, was to be into【解体是公司】【“   ,the world’s largest telephone company,”同位语被in Japan隔开没有紧接其修饰 的对象,错误;was to be into表达awkward】

A.and, if it strikes Earth, it can do tremendous damage to part of the planet but【it多余】【strikes用了现在时,没有体现出假设的语气,同样can也不对,it并没有发生,所以 只能could】
B.and, if it would strike Earth, part of the planet could experience a tremendous amount of damage but it would【that后面的定语从句错误,结构完整】
C.and that, if it were to strike Earth, could do tremendous damage to part of the planet but would【正确】
D.and that, if Earth is struck by it, can do part of the planet tremendous damage, but it would【 but it would和主句并列错误,应该是和定语从句并列】
