SINGAPORE -Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has been ranked the world's best younguniversity for the fourth straight year. 新加坡 –南洋理工大学（NTU）连续第四年被评选为世界年轻大学中最优秀院校。
In QuacquarelliSymonds' (QS) latest rankings of the world's top 50 universities establishedless than 50 years ago, NTU retained its No. 1 spot, followed by Hong KongUniversity of Science and Technology and the Korea Advanced Institute ofScience and Technology. 英国高等教育机构Quacquarelli Symonds' (QS) 近期评选出世界前50所建校时间少于50年的年轻大学。根据最新排名结果，南洋理工大学位列榜首。香港科技大学和韩国科学技术学院紧随其后。
NTU maintainedits top spot because of its superior reputation among international employersand academics, and the diversity of its faculty and student populations. Italso scored high marks for its citations per faculty. The ranking was releasedon Thursday (July 13). 南洋理工大学在国际上享有盛誉，颇受国际各大就业单位以及专家学者好评。院校同样凭借多元化的师资力量和多样化的学生构成享誉世界。该校每位教师所著学术文献均多次被各类论文引用。正因如此，南洋理工大学连续蝉联世界最优秀年轻大学称号。该排名结果于周二公布（2017年7月13日）。
NTU presidentBertil Andersson said: "NTU is not only cementing our place as theworld's No. 1 young university, but we have also moved up in the main leaguetable to 11th place, just shy of the global Top 10. NTU will continue to placetop priority on enhancing the quality of our education, research and innovationprogrammes." 南洋理工大学校长贝蒂儿·安德森（Bertil Andersson）表示，南洋理工大学不仅保持了世界第一年轻大学的佳绩，而且也将其世界主要大学排名提升至11位，距世界前十仅一步之遥。南洋理工大学将继续把提高教育质量、科研质量以及创新项目质量作为院校发展的重中之重。
Commenting onthe region, he said: "Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea's youngStem (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) universitiesstand out as Asia-Pacific's up-and-coming dynamos and they are poised to becomethe world's future powerhouses of higher education and research. 关于该地区教育发展情况，安德森表示，“新加坡、香港以及韩国等地区的主要院校（科学、技术、工程、数学类院校）均表现优异，在亚太地区教育中的作用日益明显，逐步成为推动教育进步的源动力。这些院校准备充分，蓄势待发，未来必将成为世界高等教育与研究进一步发展的动力来源。”
"As Asia'sdynamic economies continue to lead global growth, higher education will play anincreasingly important role in the region's development, and NTU is wellpositioned to ride this wave of progress," Professor Andersson added. 安德森还补充道，“随着亚洲动态经济持续引领全球经济增长，高等教育对于地区发展的作用愈加重要，南洋理工大学已做好准备，乘风破浪，推动教育发展”。
The annualranking is based on six indicators, including research quality, teaching quality,reputation among employers, and an assessment of the global diversity offaculty and students. 每年一度的院校排名评选基于六个评选标准，包括：科研质量，教学质量，就业单位声誉，院校师资与学生构成全球性和多样性评估等。
QS said the topyoung universities league table is designed to highlight the potential and excellenceof universities without decades or centuries of established reputation. 英国高等教育机构QS指出，评选世界年轻大学排行榜的初衷在于，着眼于建校时间短、没有历史声誉的大学，重点关注未来发展潜能与院校卓越优势。
