Yes, the pledged initial stipend at Buffalo is somewhat lower than that at Kansas.

The "Current Students" page for Finance at Kansas shows only three students, and there is a similar number of students for each of the other concentrations. So one can imagine the program to be very collegial, simply because it is small. Also, as emphasized earlier, it is well supported. You may have got a feel of these from communicating with the admissions office and program coordinator. On the Buffalo side, are you still on the waitlist? If you prefer the collegiality and better funding offer at Kansas and also do not want the angst of waiting to hear from Buffalo, you might be more inclined toward the former. In a word, while Buffalo is stronger in research and better in placements, Kansas is more supportive.

楼主说的很明白了，和我目前的感受完全一样。KU的回复和沟通都比UB顺畅一点，UB还在WL上，老师说highly possible，但还需要等，已经等了一个礼拜了，打算在下周一没消息就接了KU，不能再把KU吊着了，拿到offer已经两个月了

We noted a recent posting discussing the PhD Program at Stevens Institute of Technology. We are not in a position to advise regarding its research or placements because we even do not have the least knowledge of this school. That being said, given the unprecedentedly tough job market, we would suggest that those who have received admission offers make informed acceptance decisions.

I don't understand why wouldn't some PHD programs post their placement records.
A PHD program would post its placement records as long as the records are decent enough.

Thank you for your question. A general observation is that the higher ranking a program is, the more proactive it will be in publicizing placement information, and the information thus provided will be more thorough, accurate, and reliable. The reasons for this phenomenon are self-evident, as we have discussed before.

Glad you liked our postings. The two programs are rather similar, but FIU would be preferable over UTSA regardless of the area of concentration. For overall reputation, FIU is R1 (very high research activity) under Carnegie Classification, but UTSA is not.

We noted one recent posting comparing Texas A&M University and University of Texas-Dallas. TAMU has a distinguished and long-standing reputation for research (among the top 30 in North America) and placements, whereas UTD is a superstar in the making. So the assertation that one is better than the other is an oversimplification. Remember TAMU is in Tire 2 in our Placement Ranking. No matter which of the two you join, your career prospects will be assured and outstanding even if your perfomance is just "normal".
