Yes, the pledged initial stipend at Buffalo is somewhat lower than that at Kansas.
The "Current Students" page for Finance at Kansas shows only three students, and there is a similar number of students for each of the other concentrations. So one can imagine the program to be very collegial, simply because it is small. Also, as emphasized earlier, it is well supported. You may have got a feel of these from communicating with the admissions office and program coordinator. On the Buffalo side, are you still on the waitlist? If you prefer the collegiality and better funding offer at Kansas and also do not want the angst of waiting to hear from Buffalo, you might be more inclined toward the former. In a word, while Buffalo is stronger in research and better in placements, Kansas is more supportive. |
