从accounting的角度，Austin相当于one-stop shop,想做什么research都可以，老师也愿意带学生，某些年做tax或者experimental的做得好的就有极好的placement，Berkeley的问题在于没人带学生。

对， UT Austin 是公立学校大而强的最好典范。Berkeley 的话，还不是依仗学校的牌子才敢这么大胆地不管学生，但即使这样学生就业出路还是照样好，原因有二，一方面学生素质相对好，这没疑问，另一方面还是学校牌子好。都说MBA 是一场排名的游戏，从某种程度说 PhD 也同样是，所以大家还是尽最大可能去好学校读 PhD。

By the way, the accounting job market is continuing to look better than that for finance or any other area of concentration.

It is getting tougher, although still relatively better.

University of Tennessee PhD 项目现已升级为 TIER 3，毕业出路很不错，论坛讨论的很少，可能因为中国学生很少。

说实话，我觉得teaching school 蛮好的，
