以下是引用coopers在2005-9-2 23:53:00的发言:

< >Have you ever learned statistics? Or you totally forget it?

< >When you "找两个样本, 一个中国工人,一个美国工人, 两个人在同样的条件下, 看谁的生产效率高",

< >This is so ridiculous. How do you know these two can be the representative of the whole population? Only when the sample size is big enough can you say that the characteristics of sample are the representative. That's why Funworks is talking about the percentage.

< >When I took operation course in MBA program, I noted that US and Japan have the highest productivity, Germany follows. This is not strange or odd, we can know this complies with the economy situation of these countries.

< >Good question! But to me, standards such as the same education background and technique training, similar level of mental and physical strength, etc, will serve well to prevent any considerable difference between two sample. Further, if you do want to jig the turth, we certainly can design a model that is constituted by different social groups. By doing so, at least we will see the answer of whether Chinese is lazy in a biological light. Socially, by all means the gauge will be more difficult. But, we can change the sample from a single person to a group of people who by established statistic model is representitive of its majority. Certainly, there are many other possible angles to testify people's behaviour such how long everage hours one spend on work, what is percent for people who keep second jobs...... as long as statistic bureau is willing to collect the numbers.

< >China's is increasing but still no match to that of US.

< >"我一个哥们的公司里, 911以后公司裁员, 裁的的都是美国人"

< >This is a very bad example. First, there might be more American in the company than international workers.

< >Second, those international workers should be considered in the top level in their own countries. That's why they can come to US. So these international workers are not representative of all workers in their own countries.

< >Dont you see my whole sentense, I said that my friend can accomplish the SAME job in two days that is usually completed by his American colleagues with one week. The fact is the fired employees undertook exactly the same job with him.

"你从小到大,是被教育要说谎, 要骗人, 要巧取豪夺吗? "

Of course not, this is not what we were educated, but sadly this is what we see in this society.

When you simply said, I see sth, should I percieve it undoubtably as a turth, especially with no hard evidence or concrete example you provide?

|
