So the total they paid is $27

Plus waiter’s $2

Total is $29.

Where is the other dollar?

呵呵~~， 但是如果waiter 被警察抓住， 要他还出赃款的话， 他只有$2。总数还是不对啊。

这个例子在现实里也很常见的。

总数是25，而不是30。所以waiter的2$是减而不是加。

没什么吧。顾客付了27元，waiter拿了2元，和总数30元并没有简单的加起来的关系吧。
