Of course.

Business education is an investment on human capital, and it is very reasonable that one is expected to risk their own money.

If you have a really limited budget, and thus don't want to go for MBA, but a MSF or MiM instead, the only choice I can think of is Bocconi (potential scholarship) and HSG (low tuition). (not sure about SSE)
Indeed quite many public university in Europe will have a low tuition too, but seldom they have a finance master or they have a famous business school.

My experience is more on the quantitative side of finance, and I guess it is not really too relevant to those IBD/consultant wanna-be.

the simplest conclusion on my side is: if one have good mathematics (not me of course), good programming skills, and a related degree (e.g. MFE) in a good enough university, visa is normally not a big problem if one plan to stay oversea for a job.

I think it is very normal and natural to back to home country since IBD, consulting and etc depends on language, culture, and network quite a lot.
and thus it is way more difficult to develop a career in these fields in foreign countries, than home country. (not to mention working visa first)

and that's exactly why I don't think master program in European continental fits you well, even some of them can be way cheaper as the highest cost of studying is not only the tuition but also opportunity cost of lost income; unless you are willing and well-prepared to work for a couple of internship or even a couple of years in Europe before you go back (but this then mixed up with the visa concern in UK, or language barrier in other EU country)

one more point worth mention concerning the topic above is:
it also depends on what kind of "finance" experience you have previously. Finance can be many things:
the internal treasury and accounting and budgeting of a corporation can be called finance division, an equity research analyst is for sure finance, and it is also the case for a quantitative trader, a product sales to clients, and a compliance office, or someone working in IT support or operation. and this is very clear they can be of very different degree of relevance (and different level of skill training) for the next job.
