This calculation was based on an 11.2 percent mortgage interest rate and on the realtor’s assumption that a family could only afford to pay up to 25 percent of its income for housing.Which of the following corrections of a figure appearing in the passage above, if it were the only correction that needed to be made, would yield a new calculation showing that even incomes below the median family income would enable families in Millington to afford Millington’s median-priced house?
(A) Millington’s total population was 45,000 people.
(B) Millington’s median annual family income was $27,000.
(C) Millington’s median-priced house cost $80,000.
(D) The rate at which people in Millington had to pay mortgage interest was only 10 percent.
(E) Families in Millington could only afford to pay up to 22 percent of their annual income for housing.

The answer is D, but i don't understand, is it a math problem?

问题的意思是 下面哪个因素会使收入低于the median family income,即$2800的家庭也能买的起 Millington’s median-priced 的房子
可能是房价下降 或者贷款利率下调 或者一个家庭能够负担的房价占他们收入的比重上升 原文说a family could only afford to pay up to 25 percent of its income for housing

A 和人口无关
B题目的意思就是这个median family income的数量是既定的 在这基础上讨论below这个标准的家庭是否能买的起
c median-priced house cost由原文中的$77,000 上升到 $80,000 更减少了收入低于中等收入水平的家庭购房的可能性
d 正确 贷款利率由11.2%下降到10% 购房者还贷压力减轻 要付的利息更少 当然加大了他们买房的能力
e 一个家庭能够负担的房价占他们收入的比重由25%下降到22% 同c

如果说是数学也无外乎比较大小 关键是看懂句子啊~
