I guess if u want to find a job, u need to choose option 2. Ask previous student in that program about the placement. The other two choices are not well suited for looking for a job. Econ phd can't find a good job, not even to mention econ master
Chicago's program neither good to find a job nor for Phd application. No better for Duke. You know what? You should know which kind of job you want to have. There are many more specific jobs in finance. So I recommend you directly find a job and work a couple of years. Of course, directly find a job is not easy at all either. So maybe you have no choice but to go Chicago.
Wow, so straightforward. If you want money, guess Ph.D. is really not a good choice. Painful, and low return. And it's really hard to get admitted these years. Ask those students in the program about the placement. I don't know about Chicago's program. Duke's has some alumni who get jobs in US; however I feel it's more research oriented.
A PhD is not a good investment of your life if your end goal is industry. Those PhDs who have good placements in industry would have been able to do that without that PhD. If you want to find a job, then go and get that masters degree.
