关于此题的解释，在论坛上已经有下面的讨论：
A 比较好排除： his own text is guilty of equally serious distortions：equally serious distortion 明显不对。
C:virtually any attempt at editing it must run counter to her intentions：must run counter明显也不是结论。作者只是指出JOHNSON自己也有弱点，没说DICKINSON的东西无法以正确的形式被表达出来。
D:只能理解为他的STUDY并没有LACK sufficient thoroughness, 只是DECIPHER方面，标点的使用违背了DICKINSON的本意？
E: failed to deal adequately with the problem of deciphering Dickinson’s handwritten manuscripts的是JOHNSON, 没有说其他EDITOR也是犯同样的错误。

个人认为正确选项B有一个问题。因为题干讨论的不仅是johnson，还有early editors，但是B中明显忽略early editors

另外，E为什么错误？多余E一直耿耿于怀·····

我是觉得B对的啦就好比说
我和你都考GMAT可以推出你考GMAT（这个结论是对的吧）
那Johnson和early editors都mislead readers了是不是可以推出Johnson mislead readers这个观点？
而且显然这段的重点不是early editors~~
然后E的话。。文章的意思是不是说 failed to deal adequately with the problem of deciphering Dickinson’s handwritten manuscripts是johnson他的own forms of distortion？？所以跟别的editor没啥关系？
本人愚见。。其实做这道题的时候我也纠结了好久好久的说。。。

题干有这两句：

我觉得这两句话已经可以充分推导出E选项了，也就是JOHNSON和early editors都犯了错误。

好纠结啊，这道题是不是应该被忽略不计。。。。非典型题目。。。？

我的观点是这样的
Johnson+early editors 不等于 Dickinson’s editors, including Johnson
前者的范围小于后者
