正确答案是E, 可是我的问题是to allow为什么不会产生既可以修饰a motion, 又可以修饰deny的歧义?

a motion 是名词，deny是动词，两个词之间不存在产生修饰岐义的可能性啊

我的意思是会不会有一下两种理解可能：

1.否定一个motion，这个motion是allow。。。

2.否定一个motion，目的是allow。。。

请教

动词不定式也可以修饰名词啊!

我觉得这里主要是因为a motion to do sth.是一个idiomatic的用法，所以to do肯定是修饰motion，没有歧义

否则，应该是有歧义的

旋元佑的书中提到过一个验证SVOC句型非常简便的方法，就是把宾语和补语拿出来，中间加上be动词，看看能不能改成SVC句型

比如Judge Bonham denied a motion to allow.... 就变成 a motion is to allow。。。。。

又比如 he's the man to help us  就变成 the man is to help us.

另外，一般可以把不定式视为名词来处理，所以不定式不可能做宾语的定语

如果要做定语的话，就应该变成 Judge Bonham denied a motion allowing.......
