174. A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn were published, reveals that Twain provided financial assistance to one of the first Black students at Yale Law School.

In this sentence, the relative pronoun that should introduce the clause The Adventures ... published to make a relative clause modifying year. Also, the singular title of the novel demands a singular verb: for example, one would say, "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is (not "are") a great book." Only C, the best choice, satisfies both requirements. Choices A and D incorrectly substitute as for that to introduce the relative clause. Choice A also mistakes the novel title for a plural (were published). B confuses meaning (written in the same year of publication as). E creates a similar confusion of meaning, and both D and E are awkward and imprecise because that is too far away from its referent (letter) to be clear.

OG中A/D的解释是Choices A and D incorrectly substitute as for that to introduce the relative clause. 这两者有什么区别吗？谢谢。

文中意思应该是比较两个的时间是一样的吧,我觉得A改为in the same year as that .因为如果去掉that 比较对象不具可比性了(the same year 与The Adventures published比); D不对是因为后面的that reveals 改变句子意思了.且the same year 与he published The Adventures 不可比. 最后的C, the same year that 中的that指代same year ,至于没有as 在中间,会不会是省略了呢? 不知道有没有 the same ...(as ) 的用法?

bde明显错不说了.这里并没有省as 或者that, the same 一般是用 as, 但因为这里修饰year(时间),所以用that(把as改成了that). 这个不知道也能做这题,看看a后面的were, 应该用was.

不是the same as和the same that 的问题。that引导的从句来限定year的，就是
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn 书出版的那年。不是表示比较的意思。

提个不中听的建议哈：大家是不是都没有认真看刘振民的《GMAT语法改错精解》呀？这个题目，他的书里有很详细的解释。这个题目是那本书里P188页的。有空可以去看一下。该书35块，虽然不便宜，但是考前买了还不算亏太多。

这里罗嗦几句：
１、as有做关系代词的用法，其用法可以和（who, that, whom, when, where）互换。这个题目里既可以用the same as，也可以用the same that。

２、OG的解释是这个道理：
　　A选项的结构是A letter (. . . .) reveals that . . . . .
　　解释是马克吐温写的一封信揭示了，马克吐温为谁谁谁提供经济援助。
　　D选项中揭示马克吐温为谁谁谁提供经济援助的那个从句用来修饰“The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”，他写的一本书。解释就变成了，马克吐温写的一本小说揭示了他为谁谁谁提供经济援助。改变了原来的意思，而且意思上也说不通，自己写小说来告诉别人自己做了什么事情。

３、A和C本来都可以选的，主要是由于published前面的谓语动词，造成了只能选择C，不能选择A。

不知道讲清楚了没有，没有可以再问。

我就是读了LZM，才是特别奇怪，这与OG的这题不是矛盾吗？
