that 引导的不是定语从句吧。看成year的同位语从句倒是说的通 -- that在从句中不用做任何成分。

这个解释我觉得很好，例子跟本题the same year that类似。为什么会这么替换，我认为都是因为前面指代的词都是一个实义名词，而且that在从句并不做S、V、O中的任何一个成分，只在从句中有做状语成分含义，所以有时会省略掉。如“written in the same year that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published”中的that可理解为在从句中与不存在的in组成介宾短语做published的时间状语。

同意楼上对定语从句的批判。

说到点子上了，这题的重点根本不是什么same as的句型
