the same (A) as(B), A和B必须要严格对称，如单复数需一致，可以参考OG109：

而the same后加时间点或时间段，如time/year等，后要加that clause来修饰这个时间（我想这也符合简洁原则，因为这种情况下如果加as来严格对称的话一定比that clause更罗嗦吧。）

按 ETS 的习惯 ， 表相似用  same as  （same  X as  Y ）
                         表相同用  就应优先用   the same   that

年份只能相同，不能相似       用 the same year that

我以为，the same as 指的是同类之间的相同。


而the same that 指的是同一个东西。

我是这样理解这道题的：

无论我们选as还是that 都是用来引导这个从句的：The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn were published，先行词应该是the year，在从句里充当时间状语。

而as只可以作关系代词，that有时候是可以作表时间的关系副词的

所以在这个句子中只能用that，而不能用as

不知道说清楚没，

表示同一个用that，表示同样的但不是同一个用as。

没有看到权威语法书上用when。只是在张道真，温志达的《英语语法大全》上册P338找到一句话：

This is the same watch as I lost.(it is not mine)

比较：This is the same watch that I lost.(it is mine)

在such和same后有时也可以用who，which，what引起从句,如上例。

可是我没有找到带有who，which，what的例句。

请NN解惑。

Fine.tianwan! 我觉得用as就是说在说两个东西，that则是指代同一物。至于想用when，那就不能用...same...如何如何了。

好糊涂啊，in the same year...后面的定语从句不是修饰year的吗，那不就应该用when 来引导吗？虽然说前面有in，但和定语从句是不相干的把？
