时态：前半句发生于过去并且结束了，应该用began过去时。后半句发生在过去，但持续到现在，并且仍在膨胀，应该用现在完成进行时。

2.A
so as… to…（必须是同一主语
B重复了一个so
C感觉翻译过来很奇怪，没有能力被区分，be able to后面加被动式感觉不太对。
D/E enough to do

3.D
ten times as much….as

like不能枚举，排除AB
C的are双谓语，排除
E的than不对，前面没有与之搭配的

两个事件并列，排除C

enough to do排除E
这里用ditinguish动词优于distinguishable
3. D
列举 such……as更优，平行结构in sources---in conventional

1. A 考察时态：10 to 20 billion yeas ago过去时标志词，用过去完成时不准确; have been doing强调过去的动作延续到现在并会在未来持续
2. A so...that/ enough to do/ so...as to do 固定搭配排除BE； be able to do 强调有生命的物体主观发出的动作,be able to be done用法错误，D选项修饰gradual，应该变成enough gradual而不是gradual enough
3. D. like不能表示举例排除abc，are找不到相关主语
