[原始] 7月12日760分手,机经+考试感想

XDJM们,我把昨天写的一些没写明白的地方又详细了一下,有错的地方改了一下(就一两处哈)。给大家带来不便抱歉啦

今天下午的考试,最后分数还不错,总分760(Q51 V41 IR6)作文应该没有问题,以我模考的时候的打字速度,应该打了有六百个词左右。从备考开始从CD学到了非常多,很多资料都是CD下载的。今天先写一个机经和考试感想,过两天再分享自己的备考经验。
昨天听到换库的消息的时候,我还是没有慌,坚持考下来了。事实证明GMAT还是一个能力的测试,一站的时候我阅读中了三篇,然后数学中了得有20道吧,然后最后总分690(Q50 V34 IR5)。这次一个鸡精没有,反而发挥的非常好。考前两天的时候我又把免费的两套prep模考做了一次,之前模考都是六百多分,而且是一两个月前模考。两次一次verbal 42, 一次是770(Q51 V45),所以prep还是非常准的。还有一个值得一说的事情是昨天楼主看到一个750的人选的先做QV的考试顺序,今天楼主也是选的Q V IR AWA的顺序,自己感受这个顺序确实会舒服一些,首先Q热身,然后V开始啃骨头,最后做IR和AWA放松,比之前的顺序要好,尤其在Verbal部分,楼主考前一天模考的时候真的觉得做到verbal部分的时候自己有一些脑力上的疲倦感(楼主24岁,常年锻炼身体好),所以个人还是建议大家采用Q V IR AWA的顺序,可以在精力旺盛的时候攻克Verbal,毕竟得Verbal者得天下。下面给XDJM们放机经,希望大家有用吧
作文
楼主碰到的题目是说有一个music stop, last year采用了radio advertising后,business increase了,increase来自于more customers来这家店。但是,这家店的profits stay stagnant in the last three years (说明去年的采用a a radio advertising 并没有提高profits),然后argument给出的解释是the owners of the music shop have made enough money from the cloth business and are wealth (言下之意是从其他生意赚够了钱,所以暗示着在Music的店经营上懒散了)。所以作者建议自己的店要switch from newspaper advertisments to a radio advertising来提高profits and sales.
感觉考试的作文题的还是漏洞百出,有很多写的地方,基本上很容易就跳出三个逻辑漏洞来批判。
Quant
Quant部分楼主觉得不难,这次一道机经都没有,反而做的还可以。提醒大家做题的还是要仔细一点,其实楼主上次碰到20道机经反而只有50分很郁闷,楼主本科是数学系的啊。。。。
提醒大家一句,做DS题目的时候应该先判断两个选项是否单独成立,再判断合在一起是否成立,这样比较稳妥,不容易错

碰到一个就是在june 1st温度是30,接下来七天的时间里面有四天温度下降,三天温度上升,问7天过后是否会温度大于25度。
条件1 温度下降的天中每天最多下降1度
条件2 温度上升的天中每天最多上升1度
楼主选的A,应该条件1每天最多下降1度,下降最后就是4度,另外3天都是上升,所以最后温度>26>25
条件2很明显单独不成立

还有一道题就是mt+sp>0?
条件1: ms+tp>0
条件2:mp+st>0
楼主选的E

还有一道题是画了一个梯形ABCD,说D点在C点和E点之间,然后说梯形ABCD面积和三角形ACE面积相同,问DE的长度?(图片见上传的图片吧,楼主是在不知道改怎么把图片贴上来,感觉CD这个是bug,应该改进一下。)
这个题很明显DE的长度等于AB的长度,所以等于5

还有一道题是说9个数的均值是84,然后去掉一个数后,剩下的8个数的均值是85,问去掉的数等于几

还有一道题是说有53个人参加一个聚会,每个人至少选三个食物中的一个:piizza, cheese, 还有一个食物忘了假设是hamberger吧。问吃了三种食物的人有多少?
条件1:没有人只吃了pizza,并且只吃了cheese的人有9个
条件2:没有人吃了两种食物,并且只吃了hamberger的人有7个
楼主选的是C。这个题比较确定,大家画一下维恩图,然后画出来过后在条件1条件2下面,可以得出只吃了三种食物的人数+7+9=53

还有一道题是盐水,问要多少磅含盐15%的盐水和300含盐10%的盐水能够兑出12%的盐水
答案是200
又想起来两道题
一个题是predict这个单词,要字母e,r,d三个挨在一起,并且以red的顺序。问有多少中排列的方法
这个题就是把red看做一个字母,然后跟剩下的4个字母进行随机排列(相当于5个字母随机排列),所以就等排列数5!

还有道题就是一个数x的所有digit加起来等于170,如果x=10^20-y,y是一个两位数,问y可能是多少
算出来的y的digit加起来等于8,所以y可以等于47. 应该是10^20-y过后等于99999999....(18个9)最后两位加起来是8,所以可能是53,所以y可能是47

数学就想起来这些,剩下来的想起来在补充吧
Verbal部分
SC
SC部分楼主感觉跟Prep非常像(但是没有prep的难度那么刁钻和喃,楼主觉得prep上的有几个题真的是没法做对,太难了),考了挺多平行和主谓一致,大家读题的时候要仔细,尤其是主谓一致,楼主记得有两三道题一个主谓一致就可以排除3个选项,然后剩下两个选项很好排除
CR
CR就还记到一道题。说在大坝建设后,salmon(大马哈鱼)的population下降。有biologist做实验,好像是测了在dammed river system和undamed river system中salmon的繁殖率还是生存率,发现都是1/3。但是biologist认为由此也不能认为dam对salmon没有坏的影响。问支持
其他都很容易排除,有两个选项比较有迷惑
第一个是说undamed river system有pollution
第二个是说damed river system的长度是undamed river system长度的两倍
这个题我选的第二个,第一个我觉得很有迷惑性,貌似可以给出alternative reason来削弱dam对salmon没有影响的结论。但是个人觉得根据helr逻辑笔记的那个思想(我觉得很有道理),这里面是比较两个东西,应该给出这两个东西不一样的地方,所以我选的后者

RC
RC提醒大家除了高分答主的比较确定的答案,一般的答案真的不要信,错的太多了。主要还是看看文章,到时候上考场自己判断。
RC遇到了starlling这个鸟那篇
第一段就是说 starling这个鸟能模仿很多声音,因为他们 in floaks and 能够模仿很多很多声音,所以要研究他们的仿声能力需要很多年的跟踪记录,所以对于他们仿声能力的研究很少。
第二段就是讲了一个实验,研究它的仿声能力。有一个比较surprising的发现是他们不是micmic single words, 而是micmic phrase。得出的结论是starling学习vocal是从他们interact most的来学习,比如他们的parents和siblings
第三段忘了
记得两个题
第一题问为什么关于starling micmic vocal的研究很少?
答案是他们in floaks and micmic很多很多声音。这个很确定
第二题问第二段实验中比较surprising的一点发现是什么
就是他们不是micmic single words, 而是micmic phrase。这个也很确定

之前机经楼主的答案有错误下面的文章可以读一下,读考试理解这篇文章有帮助。
The vocal talent of starlings has been known since antiquity, when Pliny considered their ability to mimic human speech noteworthy. Ornithologists know that this species possesses a rich repertoire of call and songs, composed of whistles, clicks, snarls, and screeches. In addition, starlings are well known for their ability to mimic the sounds of other animals or even mechanical noises. Descriptions of starling song in the past reflect the difficulty of describing all the variety of sounds included. Witherby mentioned a “lively rambling melody of throaty warbling, chiring, clicking and gurgling notes interspersed(点缀) with musical whistles and pervaded by a peculiar creaking quality.”

This complexity explains why detailed studies of starling song have delayed long after the arrival of the sound spectrograph. As mentioned by West & King, “the problem with starlings is that they vocalized too much, too often and in too great numbers, sometimes in choruses numbering in the thousands. Even the seemingly elementary step of creating an accurate catalogue of the vocal repertoire of wild starlings is an intimidating task because of the variety of their sounds.”

Chaiken have compared the sons of young males raised in different social conditions: either with a wild-caught adult song tutor, individually housed but tape-tutored by a tape-recording or raised in total isolation. All birds had been taken from the nest at an early age (8-10 days) and were hand raised. Untutored birds produced mostly an abnormal song, where even the basic organization of song was missing. In contrast, both tape- and live-tutored birds developed songs with a normal basic organization, but with some syntactical abnormalities for the tape-tutored birds. Tape-tutored birds had repertoires half as large as those of live-tutored birds. Large differences occurred between both groups of birds in their ...

In particular, articular, the late-seventeenth-century introduction of a new style of dress called the manteau or mantua, and its increasing popularity, offered female seamstresses a "wedge” to loosen the tailors’ monopoly over the production of more formal, elite, and expensive women's fashions. This new product and more generally the exploding market for clothing, in particular women's clothing, provided seamstresses with the income and market niche(有利可图的市场) from which to expand their numbers and to organize politically within the previously male-dominated trade. Furthermore, they could generally rely on the French state, with its agenda of economic development, to aid in this expansion and organization.

In contrast with much of the prevailing historiography, Crowston demonstrates that when it was in the interest of the French state, authorities were happy to work with and encourage women workers as autonomous producers and not merely as family appendages to guild patriarchs. Crowston thus reinforces Hesse's claim that market expansion brought new opportunities for some women, but she locates these expanding opportunities in the political economy of the late Ancient Regime, rather than in the Revolution's overthrow of it. In Crowston's history, the seamstresses of Ancient Regime France emerge as relatively powerful and autonomous figures whose work, civic, and gender identities drew upon many sources, but were institutionalized in important ways because of the existence and practices of their guild. The destruction of the guild system during the Revolution thus represents a critical moment in the history of women's work and gender relations—from the perspective of women working in the garment trades, the "freeing" of the market from political constraints brought a largely negative transformation. A closer look at each of these works helps to reveal the origins of the tensions between these two interpretations.
