Which of the following most logically completes the argument？

The attribution of the choral work Lacrimae to the composer Pescard (1400–1474) has been regarded as tentative, since it was based on a single treatise from the early 1500s that named Pescard as the composer. Recently, several musical treatises from the late 1500s have come to light, all of which name Pescard as the composer of Lacrimae. Unfortunately, these newly discovered treatises lend no support to the attribution of Lacrimae to Pescard, since _______.

A、the treatise from the early 1500s misidentifies the composers of some of the musical works it considers
B、the author of the treatise from the early 1500s had no very strong evidence on which to base the identification of Pescard as the composer of Lacrimae
C、there are works that can conclusively be attributed to Pescard that are not even mentioned in the treatise from the early 1500s

求助下这个题目，我看出来的文章内容是：
early 1500s 的treatise证实了一个事情。最近late 1500s 的treatise也指明了这个事情。但是最近的treatise并不起什么作用，问为什么？
所以选项里一定要提到最近的treatise，才能解释清楚为什么。就只有D提到了，选D。

希望大家看下我的解题思路，如果不对的话，有什么更好的思路来做，谢谢。

A、the treatise from the early 1500s misidentifies the composers of some of the musical works it considers

这题没啥复杂的逻辑。就是后面的人写书的时候都是以之前的人写的东西为依据，所以前面的人对，他们也对，前面的人错，他们也错。

谢谢回复。

可能用于不是很精确，我的意思是选项需要说明later treatises（一定是后一篇文章）没作用才可以，
A、B、C几个选项都是说early treatises的，所以不能解释为什么“later treatises没作用”，就被排除了，我当时这么想的。E里说到的1600s的是不相关，也被排除了。

之所以这么想，就是因为我没法理解您说的“后面的人写书的时候都是以之前的人写的东西为依据，所以前面的人对，他们也对，前面的人错，他们也错。”是为什么，难道默认后边人下东西一定会抄以前人写的吗，觉得怪怪的，绕不过这个弯来。我怎么都不觉得D对，但是觉得剩下的都不对，所以确认下我判断不对的判断思路对不对，确保考试遇到怎么都绕不过来的情况，至少能拍出错的，选对对的。

D选项的意思就是“以讹传讹”
好比：
20年前的朝鲜作家说“金大胖用石头子把卫星打下来了”
10年前有1000个朝鲜作家在他们的著作中提到了“金日成把卫星打下来了”，并不能增强这件事的可信性。因为这1000个朝鲜作家在写书的时候并没有别的素材可以参考，所以都参考了20年前的朝鲜作家书中的内容。

如果你还是不理解就是D选项没读懂。

我懂了！非常感谢，确实是D选项没有精确的理解对。

这里补充下D解释方便其他同学看。
D、the later treatises probably had no source for their attribution other than the earlier treatise
later treatises除了earlier treatise之外，可能并没有其他的来源参考了。即later只参考了earlier的内容。

P.S 还要继续加强阅读能力啊

嗯，看来有题目不会，可能真要放一下，再复习再看，才能绕出那个牛角尖，一个题目还是要多做做透的。谢谢帮助～
