so S=3^(3/4)

if you want approximate number, then s=3/ 3^0.25 =3/ 1.75^0.5=3/1.3 =0.23

r^8=284 so r=284^0.125 approximatly equal to 284^0.125= (2^5*3^2)^0.125=2^(5/8)*3^0.25

3^0.25 approximatly equal to 1.3 (as the above calculation) and 2^(5/8)=2^0.5 * 2^0.125 which approxmately equal to 1.4*1.1=1.54. Finally, 1.51*1.3=2

The way I calculate for 2^0.125 is as follow:

2^0.5 approximately equal to 1.41 , 1.4^0.5 approximately equal to 1.2 becasue 1.2^2=1.44 and 1.2^0.5 approximately equal to 1.1 because 1.1^2= 1.21. Thus 2^0.125=1.4^0.25=1.2^0.5=1.1

楼上太麻烦了吧，如果考试这样算，会浪费很多时间的

可以直接把s的幂和r的幂都转到相同的来比较，这里r的幂是8，s是4，那么把s^4再平方，幂就是8了，这样不就证明s比r大了吗？

可以用windows自带的计算器，一步步开方检验

楼上的几位，楼主只说怎么算，没说比较，

如果要用笔来估算相似值，只能用我那个笨方法，以前初中学过用笔算精确开方，现在忘了，不好意思。
