It depends on which state you want to stay eventually. If you take CPA in Delaware (let's say, with the least stringent education requirement), then you meet the requirements in the state of delaware. After you pass the exam and accumulate enough experience per State of Delaware requirement, you will get a Delaware CPA license, which may or may not automatically grant you the right to practice accounting in other states in US, depending on the reciprocal agreement among diferent states. If you passed the CPA exam and want to go to California before you getting a Delaware CPA license, then the California education requirement still applies. You cannot apply for California CPA license unless you meet the education requirement of State of California. Conclusion: Taking CPA exam in other states is not a way to get away from education requirement. |
