The Gross Domestic Product. (GDP), which measures the dollar value of finished goods and services produced by an economy during a given period, serves as the chief indicator of the economic well-being of the United States. In short, the nation's central measure of economic well-being works like a calculating machine that adds but cannot subtract.

我知道应该以OG12的答案为准，但是OG12在2010,2月份已经出版了吧，那老师不至于傻到不知道这题是OG12的题吧，而且把A讲的头头是道的
所以肯定牛牛们帮我解决一下，到底选哪个呢？
如果能帮我把原文怎么读出来GDP不好的也讲给我，感激涕零！！

文章一直在说GDP serves as the chief indicator of the economic well-being of the United States 的缺点，没有对其辩护（act, speak or write in support of sb/sth ）。通篇驳斥，无支持意向。

我感觉第二句里面“ solely...not because of any intrinsic value they may possess, but simply because...” 作者的用词很绝对，solely，not...any，simply表达了作者对GDP“只重价格、不重内在价值”的反对。

谢谢楼上~我也相信OG是对的，只是很矛盾...passion的老师居然说A对，而且很多GWD的方法貌似做OG没用..
