以下是引用clocdo在2008-11-24 22:29:00的发言: From my own very limited experiences at a prop desk at buy side, i had some contacts with custody banks, mostly nym. I'd say, even if its the top tier in custody (NYM, C, UBS, CS, GS), the work is not challenging and further development potencial is limited. (yes. the client are mostly ibankers and buyside pms, but that's the client, not you)
I saw that you got the offer from rbs capital market division, which I believe is a better desk. custody is lots of bo staff, and switching to sell side m&a or buy side (am) in the future may be difficult.
cheers When I was working in the capital market, I also have some yet very limited contact with the operational team, and they some times deal with other banks to manage account. I am not sure whether "other banks" refers to custody service, I really hope not, but if so, it will be so boring I think~~~ But when I looked at their products, I see that they are actually offering some strategic solutions in giving liquidity to the asset, which I think is also interesting, but I am still not sure how exactly they are gonna proceed this... Someone said it's better to work for TESCO than for RBS... lol... thank you for your always kind and effective help, good luck to you:-) |
