The author simply introduces the report about the future plan of US nuclear fusion research. The report says that in order to free up more money, the US should focus on development and thus close other two operations. However, some scientists show their unsatisfaction about this report, and they may try to solve the problem of funding by themselves.

In, A team of astronomers using the BICEP2 radio at the South Pole announced that they detected a twist, which was probably caused by gravitational waves. However, another team, Planck team, asserted that the tiny twist was due to ordinary dust rather than gravitational waves. In order to prove that, the Plank team released a map showing the twist owing to dust over the entire sky. According to this map, the dust level was much higher in the region around the South Pole than was estimated by BICEP2 team, making it possible that the twist was caused not by gravitational waves but by dust. However, some scientists mentioned that such twist might be caused by both gravitational waves and dust.

Scientists have created Diet Coke, which contains no sugar at all but can be tasted as sweet as Coca-Cola can. That is because of artifical sweetners, than these sweetners may be able to help people loss weight. However, some scientists argues that such antifical sweetners can even cause people to gain weight, even though they don't contain any sugar at all. By making an experiment on some groups of mice, these scientists prove that sweetners will have a bad effect on the microbes that live in mice's guts, indicating that such sweetners will also influence the microbes that live in people's guts. But the epidemiological research shows that people who drink sweetened with aspartame and the like actually reduce their weight. Because of the discrepancy, it still needs some experiments to make a conclusion.
