   preparations for infants.   这个提议前有人问过，她说答案是C错，没错，of后面加the** 但是 suger的限定词是“a”单数，present应该加s把？而且我做pp是我选c而pp却说应该选Present  why？？？？？

Let me try answering your questions.

1. the author后面应该加of, the author of ...,做LMA的同位语；

2. sugar 在大颗粒或种类时可以做可数， a sugar present in milk, 做Lactose的同位语，present这里做形容词a sugar＋adj.+pron.＋n.，没什么问题。我认为应该选C；

3. steamship 应该用复数，因为simpler前面没有定冠词the；

4. 不是很清楚题目；

5. extend应该用extending，这个句子主谓宾都已经全了，extend不能再以动词形式出现。这里extending修饰experiences

建议做structure首先理清句子的结构，找到主谓宾。
