Hey there dude,
Well, I can’t tell you what YOU want to do. Sooo if you are more interested in Marketing, you should apply for marketing. If you are more interested in management, then go for the MBA. It’s really up to you. You have a great GMAT so that should put you off to a good start, whatever it is you decide. And think about your choice in terms of what your goals are: What do you want to do? where do you want to work? What position/title would you like to have? If you can figure that out, then half the job is done!

我觉得，申请mba看的不是你有多少管理经验，而是你有多少潜质。
我理解，商学院评估是否录取你，是看他们能否把你卖出一个更好的价格。。。

谢谢版主大神，我其实工作经验有7年了吧。不过之前都是Part-time 真正的full time就拿2年。 而且之前做的都是很entry-level的工作

根据连续四年拿下s16营销第一名校IU Kelley MBA，且二度拿奖的经验，分数都没有LZ高
（不要怀疑，s16都走咨询投行去了，形成Kelley异军突起，摇身一变成了P&G等一干FMCG大牌的征才大本营。里头的BB在地品牌咨询成了招牌菜。）
LZ这经历再度拿奖绰绰有余
曾处理过仅有两年与三年工作资历的个案，其中一位拿​​奖，甚至毕业后进了美国私募圈
后因理由与LZ相仿，对市场有兴趣，回国做了某外企奢华食品一线城市的品牌经理

LZ要念MBA。原因不止是含金量高低的问题，而是要从企业策略的核心价值，来做跨部门的策略分析与规划
MS in M​​KT虽然看似也有教这些，排名靠前学校的学生也有些工作经验，但本质上还是只专注于营销专业的调研与规划
跨部门的管理与领导难以着墨，也不会有像MBA的大量管理案例，及与平均五年资历学生的大量脑力激荡
更重要的是MBA有财会、SCM供应链、生产、市场等综合管理训练
毕业后真正从事市场营销管理时，才能做跨部门的策略规划
也因此起薪一翻来到十万美金年薪

Hi Jon, thanks for your response.  I have figured out what I should do while I am composing my essays.  I do have another 3 questions and hope you know the answer.  

1.  Is there a problem if I didn't let my recent supervisor to write my recommendation letter (I just feel my previous job manager understands me more)

2. My short term goal is to become a marketing manger, but my job experience is in banking the most, so will admission consider that as a problem?

3. I do have a job gap since Feb 2014, and I am currently not working.  Is that a big problem? I have found a job in marketing position, but I am still waiting for their answer.

Thanks a lot, hope you could give me some hints.

Sure thing!

1. It’s okay if it’s a previous supervisor, but the school WILL except to see one recommendation from your current job.

2. Well, it’s not a problem, but you DO want to choose goals that will make sense to them. And since you have banking experience, you might want to use that. What you can also do is mix the goals together, for example to say you want to move to the marketing function for financial products. And THAT makes sense!

3. It’s a problem. It’s much much easier if you have a job. Buuuut even if you don’t people DO get into B-school without a job! But it’s harder.
