Time2 2:05
the four phases of prison life
Time3 2:26
there was seemingly nothing he could do
Time4 01:11
Judges actually have the power to set aside a jury verdict except the cases of criminal acquittals.
Time5 02:00
B's lawsuit is hypocritical in two ways and may be with the aim of appeasing the tea party bosses.
Time6 02:00
1.B has not identified the specific executive actions B's lawsuit will focus, so it is possible that B's lwasuit is just a political puppet show.
2.It may be among Republican's strategies to seize on Boehner's lawsuit and use it to further crimp the power of the chief executive.

[Time 2] [296 words] 2’46
A person who is accused of murdering his wife was in jail. His feelings changed from numb, anger, bitterness to calmer and relaxed; eventually he thinks the trail is what he needed.

[Time 3] [323 words] 4’26
There is nothing but angry and furious a judge can do jury made a wrong decision.

[Time 4] [228 words] 2’33
The judge is the trier of law so that he has the right to set aside a jury verdict if it is against the law. However, due to double jeopardy, the judge cannot use the right if a jury acquits a criminal defendant.

[Time 5] [330 words] 2’11

----SpeakerFour ways to simplify the law
1. Judge the law mainly by its broad effect on society, not individual disputes.
2. Trust is an essential condition of freedom.
3. Law must set boundaries protecting an open field of freedom.
4. Two changes are essential to rebuild the boundaries of the law: simplify the law and restore authority to judges and officials to apply the law.

----Speed
[Time 2] 1'50''
China pandas actually play a very important domestic role, which is called panda diplomacy that was started by Mao Zedong in 1957. Chinapandas have been sent as cuddly ambassadors. Recently pandas Xing Hui and HaoHao were sent to Belgium. Panda arrivals come with serious diplomatic and tradeclout.
[Time 3] 1'15''
In a case of federal police corruption, where some policeofficers were acused of letting go of drug addicts, prostitutes, and stealing, and were supported by their peers, the judge was livid with the government forscrewing up the case and the defense counsel for trying to use their peremptorychallenges to eliminate minorities from the jury.
[Time 4] 0'44''
Stephanie Vardavas explained that judges can make theirdecisions regardless of a jury verdict, because in a jury trial the jury is thetrier of fact, while the judge is the trier of law, and judges have this powerin both civil and criminal cases.
[Time 5] 1'37''
Analysis of the reasons why John Boehner threatened lawsuitagainst President Obama. Boehner was hypocritical
[Time 6] 1'14''
It tends to be a political puppet show. Boehner's strategyof suing first and asking questions later just might work.

2/    2’30
Answer by MM:
MM was wrongly convicted for murdering his wife. The first night in prison feels like punching into a face. I feel numb and stunned.
Earlier month in jail is about adaption. I need to obey rules in the new society.
More years, I look clam. But inside, I am filled with anger and bitterness.
After decades—acceptance and understanding of like. I appreciate pure things.
In the end, you see what the trial bring to us: it make me be who I am.

3/  how do judge feel when the know the trial is wrong.   3’47
From an anonymous:
The case about a police corruption trial. The prosecutor cannot compete with the support group of the defendant. But the judge can do nothing.
The defendants are police officers who take the victims’ things and the cop confess. But he became a scapegoat.
The defendants were acquitted even the judge think the evidence are obvious, but he could do nothing. And the judge was angry when he found the lawyer try to suppress the minority.

4/ 2’44
From an assistant counsel:
In extreme cases, the judge has the power to set aside the case.
If the judge follow the law while the jury follow the fact. The jury think it’s totally guilt. Then the judge can call a JAML.
Judge have this power in both civil and criminal case except for the acquittals.
Disclaim: I think my understanding is imperfect and need to be supplemented.

5/ What is behind the B’s lawsuit?
Why did B sue the case? Perhaps he think he could win.
B want to appease the tea party’s boss , so he sued the president.
EE(conservative) B’ lawsuit against Obama are political:  1) B oppose the right for person can sue company over discrimination in workplace. 2) B follow D to strengthen the executive authority and turn US into a torture while OBAMA make it more flexible on business by OBAMACARE and extending family leave to gay couples.

6/  3’38
B didn’t focus on any specific action of authority.—hypocrisy
B’s sue works because there’re countable R in the Supreme Court. So they claim corporations have the freedom of belief.
The author: maybe B have no strategy , he just try all things to make R win
The progressives assume: right wing of SC uses B to back R in the WH.
B’s strategy: ignore the loss and focus on SC, where five R’s vote can rival millions of American.

OBSTACLE.
When I say B’s cautions are is frivolous,  LT cautioned me.
T believe: WH as am institution cloud challenge the president decisions and must have a plausible basis. B’s action solified T’s view
If SC pass the sue, b will not win for 2 reasons: P didn’t hurt WH, and P didn’t abuse the power.

T’s views:
1.        ???
2.        B’s complain about Obama is at less merit. Although P delayed the ACA, but the delay is legitimate.
3.        Jurical branches have no role in this event.

T and I both think B’s lawsuit will lead to the impeachment. But B disagree with the impeachment, even though this is the last resource of them when they are kicked out.
Now Republicians will hold the WH.
