Right now, uber serves 37 cities in US and over 30 countries around the world. Uber defended itself by saying that the platform is providing job opportunities to the society.
Uber GM steger says that the limits would change how the company and the drivers work. Because during weekend, or other peak time, when more people get drunk or get back home safely, over 150 drivers are active on the platform. At present, the drivers in uber are allowed to log on freely and work whenever they chose, allowing them to take rests for meals. The limits would change all that.

Should uber be regulated under taxi commissions? Or, it should play under another set of rules other than that of cab? cab regulators have tried to impose different rules to drive uber out of their fields. A celebrity says, uber should not be regulated beyond the regulation on personal vehicle.
It is absurd. Uber should be regulated, but not the same way as taxi commissions imposed. To share a ride with a friend carries different social meaning to pick up a stranger and charge a fee. However, uber has the data that the government cannot collect as ever before. Government might take advantage of the data and regulate the cab industry better without controlling every factor within.
In an old school style, the cab industry relied on the taxi commissions to control licensing, dispatching to ensure predictable taxi charge and the service. But it is susceptible to manipulation. The restrictions that barrier other new firms from entering would drive up the price.
Uber has created a brand new approach to regulate the market. The system would match the locations of drivers with the passengers’, control price electronically, and measure driver’s conscienceness. It can compute which neighborhood host the most casual sex or where government shutdown impacted rides to capitol. It can track data that could be applied by government. The system of uber can ensure safety, pricing and equity of the services.
However, there is a clear conflicts between collecting verifiable, objective market data and apply this data by another entity, such as government. It is uber who should design the parameter of data analytics.
