Five myths about Easter.
First, Jesus didn’t literally rise from the dead. Today, a different kind of myth said that Jesus didn’t literally rise from the dead, and it doesn’t matter that He didn’t. But the hypothesis falls apart when one examines the Gospels.
Second, after the Resurrection, Jesus first appeared to Saint Peter. In Matthew’s Gospel, He appears first to “Mary Magdalene and the other Mary.”
Third, lent is all about sacrifice. Lent is about spiritual preparation; sacrifice is simply a means to that end. Kind, loving, forgiving move us beyond sacrifice, prepare believers to welcome Christ into their lives in a new way.
Forth& Fifth, Easter eggs have nothing to do with Easter and is not as important as Christmas, both of which are wrong. |
