top tier MFE can guarantee you a strats position in nyc (don't fuck up the relationship with the program director then it's good). MSSM is hiring a LOT.

I agree that FT exp means much more than MFE. but MFE offers an opportunity of relocation, which is a dominant factor for many applicants (especially for the Indians.... )

看recruiting data上今年有去SF的blackrock，这种公司招人的时候会比较看重哪个方面呢？？

录了cmu但有点担心computationally heavy这事儿（女生。。），怕白天编程晚上上课的方式ho不住。。。楼主能大概说一下一下lifestyle这方面的东西不~？

lol, Indians ...  lots of them and curry in HK as well

Yeah relocation choice is quite reasonable. But I guess it's still quite hard to get into front office ST in NYC banks (probably due to culture? especially if you wanna to cash). Anyway, MSCF is better than other programs in terms of recruiting.

I think if you do the homework, you will meet the technical requirements. The most important thing is whether they like you...... which can be quite tricky.
So instead of only concentrating on technical stuff, it might be a good idea to practice how to organize your thoughts & how to present yourself.

The course is not computationally heavy at all...... girls do great

Blackrock在美国有好几个地点可选，主要是NY和SF吧，具体要看职位，每年给MSCF的intern基本上有Risk，modeling，analytics等职位，比较看重quant和口语吧，今年去的有两个美国人和一个印度人。LZ对buy side也不怎么了解，它们一般招的比较晚(除了risk是每年1月份OCR时会招，其他的都在2-3月份)。

lifestyle：MSCFers have no life~~ 开玩笑的，课业是有点重，每学期一般有两门课是要coding的，每周4门课，每门课大概要花几个小时做作业(取决于个人背景，0-10个小时都有？哈哈) 不过课余生活也是可以丰富多彩的，外国同学们会经常组织活动，在NY校区的中国同学们也很爱玩儿。。。想怎么生活还是要看个人喜好吧，做学霸学渣学酥均可(LZ是学渣)

学长你好，我被mscf录取了然后已经准备好去了，不过有个问题是这段时间怎么补背景啊（个人工科背景，finance在申请之前背景基本是0，申请之后也就是为了应付面试稍微看了点书），三方面来说虽然都是渣但是个人觉得可能编程数学方面虽然要补但是主要还是finance特别是qf方面真的啥都不会，不知道看什么书比较能速成呢？ （不是很想看hull的书，感觉太厚了，而来和数学感觉联系比较小？） 有没有quant和finance都能有涉猎的书籍呢（数学背景读懂不带测度论的书应该没太大问题）

那我推荐绿书，a practical guide to quantitative finance interviews，一个中国人写的，里面涵盖了teaser、概率、derivatives、algo等等面试经常会问到的问题。当然如果在看书之外有机会做做和qf相关的实习就更好了，感觉拿到面试的关键还是看简历上的实习经历。
