In 1527 King Henry VIII sought to have his marriage to Queen Catherine annulled so as to marry Anne
Boleyn.

(B) and so could be married to

(D) so that he could marry
(E) in order that he would marry

困惑对于B的解释：“B substitutes an illogical coordinate predicate for the needed prupose clause; Because the annulment had not yet been granted, Henry could not remarry.”前面一段话可以理解，但如何理解：“Because the annulment had not yet been granted, Henry could not remarry.”B中的SO与COULD 应作何解释？正确答案D中不也用COULD表示可能 吗？

可以这样理解:

B中的so表示结果.

E中的so that表示目的.

如此说来，在B中“SO”应表示前半句动作实现的结果，但实际上动作并未实现，只是SOUGHT而已，所以SO的用法不当？
