Day 24 --speaker Images can make great impacts and even change the world. The speaker gave a lot of examples of influential images that once changed the world, including the first image of planet, Vietnam war, Sudan hungry, second world war, Diana with AIDS children, Iraq war, etc. The speaker also thinks that it is not the photographer who make the picture, actually it is the audience who immerse his or her backgrounds into the pictures and build up his or her own understanding, which bring about resonance. ---speed 1. 1’15 X-rays have been applied by researchers to find that three additional faces were painted before the accomplishment of the final masterpiece. Modern tech could help researchers to discover the insights of ancient artists when they depicted the artworks. 2. 1’44 Galileo theorized the heliocentric theory and recently researchers would like to know how the space was looked like when Galileo used his simple tubes and to observe the movement. Therefore, researchers started their project by documenting historical telescopes and fount that ancient telescopes were mainly used for limitary purposes. 3.1’36 The second step was to test the optical abilities of the telescopes. It was until 1775 that the crude setup inspired a focal point, enabling Galileo to discover the venus and make sure his heliocentric theory. In addition, an adaptive optics and reverse steps were adopted to make the test more convincing. However, as observer differs from each other, it is impossible to fully mimic what Galileo observed while the project can almost demonstrate the original process. 1. 2’48 Vaccine can be transit without ice boxes and this tech will help to reach more patients. The anti-M campaign just illustrates the effectiveness of this tech. Some vaccines can endure the safe range, and that inspired the CTC to create vaccine that can stay in hot temperatures. And one example was cited. 2. 1’23 The study is expected to inspire more vaccines to be approved by CTC. For long time, the endurance for high temperature is considered impossible, but major vaccination players welcome the findings. The innovation may bring a huge change especially in countries where cold chain is critical. --obstacle China is now diving into the research of monsoon and periodic change in temperatures. Even though china spent high costs in the project, it is the Chinese dream to know more about the pacific sea and current global climate. The project is expected to build up comprehensive understanding of the oceanic currents, their temperatures, movements, and nutrients. In addition, the study will help modelers to know more about the climate whose temperatures are rising. And geology and ecology will be studied in the study. The challenge of the study is how to link the data with ocean conditions. For better implementing the study, more professionals need to be trained to add in this perfect time with hardware.
