Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: parents do not understand their children as well as the parents  did 50 years ago ?

The development of technology allow the parents communicate with their children more often.
Indeed,with the advent of high technology, the communication equipment are developing at a rapid rate, from the telephone with wine, to cellar phone, and to internet emailing,not mention the video chat. These available equipment allow the children, especially those who are not at home to frequently contact with parents.This point is best illustrated by with the example of my experience. I have studied in the boarding school almost 6 years, from the high school to college ,and there have few chances for me to get together with my parents when i am in school, so the telephone and video chat become the connecting belt between my parents. Meanwhile, It’s nearly twice a week I share my school life and my emotional feeling with my parents through the telephone and video chat. However, if i were in 50 years ago, there had no any electric communication equipment, i would only be able to contact with my parents through letter, through which i use a lot of time to write a letter and most important i can not express my feeling clearly and efficiently.

The development of technology allows the parents more familiar with their children. Indeed,with the advent of high technology, the communication equipment are developing by leaps and bounds, from the telephone with wire, to cellar phone, and to internet emailing,not mention to the video chat. These available equipment allow the children, especially those who are not at home ,to frequently contact with parents.This point is best illustrated by with the example of my experience. In addition to previous point. Nowadays ,More educational parents well know how to communicate with their children.Compared to 50 years ago, today truly well-rounded education available enable parents more appropriate approach to communicate with their children. They have learn to not impose their ideas to their children, to respect their children’s individual feeling,and to encourage their children to express their own ideas. All of these lead to parents better understand their children. An investigation show that those parents who are more educational and have learned to communicate with their children are more easily to make friends with their children and understand them. We can not deny the fact that today there have more chances for parents to better understand their children.

Agree or disagree, the purpose of TV is to educate rather than entertain.

Firstly, the TV present substantial entertainment show to pleasure people,instead of educating them. We all agree that the advent of TV play a vital role in modern people daily life, however today TV present have dedicated colossal amounts of energy on entertainment show and TV series,such as the Soap Opera,variety show,and game show.Obviously, these shows are far from being educate people. Take the soap opera, the most popular show on TV, as an example. Soap Opera is often full of romantic love stories,which have no any educational sense , and is well-known for it’s chatty style.it is a wise choice for us to waste the boring time,but never would it teach us any academic acknowledge or any business world skills, would it never let us to learn the perseverance quality,would it never educate us to hold fast our dream in face of adversity. Therefore, We have to say that it totally a fallacy to deem the TV as one of the educational means.

In addition to the previous point, offering the entertainment is typical of fulfilling the modern people need for pleasure. The mad rush of the development of technology and society impose the intangle stress on modern people. When after their work, they would rather to lie in the couch to enjoy some game show or interesting musical show,or some unsense TV series, than to learn new skills under a tired condition.To attract the audience’s attention, the TV show makers find that entertainment go a long way to cause a stir and increase the audience rating.it’s true that our life are not full of work and learning and cant squeeze out some time to the mental relax. In investigation show that 90% would like to watch the entertainment show on TV, rather than educational show, because they think we have already many good ways to learn and improve ourself, such as the book, the training programme, and online courses, TV should be a entertainment means to relax.

First of all, The cheaper and more convenient electric reader will replace the printed books. One of the most exciting and innovative ways to get reading these days is not in the huge mega bookstore and it’s not even in the library,it sits right on a desk, or just lies in your hand to get access almost any kind of books available right at your home.innumerable people began fall into the glamour of the electric reader for it’s cost-effective and portable.Take the example of kindle ,the most popular e-reader.we can buy one book online at an price of only 1to3 dollars, not mention to the a wealth of free books.More specifically, one research show that the kindle can raise the children’s reading interest, those children who own a kindle present that they read more books in one week than those who does not own.it is not surprise that the parents are prone to buy their children the e-reader,instead of printed books.The economical and portable give the e-reader a competitive edge,it is not hasty to conclude that 20 years later, the printed books will be knocked out.
